At Northern Piedmont Sports Club (NPSC), our standing committees serve several important functions to help the organization run smoothly and fulfill its mission. Specifically, the committees help in overseeing specific areas of the club's operations and ensure that our sports programs align with the club’s goals, policies, and regulations. This can include monitoring finances, membership, events, or facility maintenance. Standing committees can be sports-specific or they can be issue-specific.
NPSC's sports-specific committees help ensure that the club's sports programs align with the overall mission and vision of the non-profit. They play a key role in defining the goals of sports initiatives and ensuring that these initiatives contribute to NPSC's larger objectives, such as promoting community engagement, health, or youth development. The committees work on planning and developing new sports programs or events, ensuring they are relevant to the target audience and fulfilling community needs. Each sports committee includes a minimum of a staff representative, a committee head, and a volunteer member. When a sport has a Director of Coaching (DoC), the DoC serves as the staff member of the committee.
NPSC's issue-specific committees can be long- or short- term. Our Fundraising Committee is one example of a long-term issue-specific committee.
To volunteer for either sports or issue-specific committees, please contact the head of the committee you would like to join!
