NPSC is chartered as a nonprofit organization under and by virtue of the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia and the United States of America in accordance with Internal Revenue Code of 1986 Section 501(c)(3). The club's purposes are limited to sports and public, not-for-profit activities. 

NPSC operates under Board of Directors-approved bylaws and policies (available on the Policies page of this website) that provide a clear framework for operations and decision-making. These guiding documents ensure consistency, transparency, and alignment with the club's mission. The club's leadership includes a Board of Directors, responsible for strategic oversight and accountability, and an Executive Director, who handles day-to-day operations and strategic planning. This governance structure promotes accountability, supports effective management, and ensures that NPSC’s programs and services are aligned with the needs of its members while adhering to legal and ethical standards.

Committees play a crucial role in NPSC’s organizational structure, ensuring smooth operations and effective decision-making. Each committee is responsible for specific areas such as fundraising and sports program management. By dividing responsibilities, committees allow for more focused attention on key tasks, streamline communication, and foster collaboration among members. These smaller groups report back to the club’s executive director, making them integral to the club’s overall governance. Through their work, committees help maintain the club’s mission, promote growth, and enhance the experience for all members, contributing to the organization’s long-term success.
