NPSC United “Mommy & Me” Soccer Program
“Mommy and Me” is a fun and positive introduction to soccer for our youngest soccer players and their parents. By using age-appropriate soccer games and activities, your young player will be engaged and enjoying the game of soccer all with their parents by their side!
Players will learn how to work in a group environment, with a team and individually, sportsmanship, and having fun with other players, parents, and coaches! Parent participation is required as well!
Mommy and Me classes are 30 minutes long on Saturday mornings, from 8 to 9am, and are run by NPSC Coaching Staff. Players will receive a training shirt at the first practice that they should wear for the sessions each week. Cleats, Shin guards, and a Size 2 Ball are required.
NPSC United Little United U5 Soccer Program
To offer a better transition from the NPSC Mommy & Me Program to the NPSC In-House Recreational Program, the Little United U5 Soccer Program was restructured and will offer one 50 minutes practice/game session. Each season will have 8 Saturdays of activities, and two soccer seasons will be offered (Fall and Spring). This soccer program will prepare young players to compete in small games (2v2 or 3v3). Games will happen during the second part of the session, after fun technical warm up activities. Plus, the players’ parents will be the team coaches. The main goal for this program is to prepare players and parents for the In-House U6 and U8 levels.
NPSC United IN-HOUSE RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS
U6, U8, U10 Age Groups
The NPSC In-House Soccer Program offers 3 different age groups (U6s, U8s, and U10s) options for Boys and Girls. Each age group has its appropriate soccer curriculum and guidelines which focuses on developing basic soccer skills, teaching the rules of the game, and creating a positive soccer environment. These programs are based on volunteer coaching. Each team will have at least one Volunteer Coach, who will be assigned before the season starts, and will run one practice a week on Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays. Soccer games will be on Saturdays from 8am to 12pm approximately. Also, for the U8s and U10 age groups a “soccer draft” will be schedule at the beginning of each season to offer transparency and fair competition to all players and teams. The In-House program is offered in the Spring and Fall seasons.
NPSC United TRAVEL Academy Soccer Program
8 to 12 years old
Spring 2025 Season
The NPSC United TRAVEL Academy Program consists of offering extra soccer training to recreational players from 8 to 12 years old who are looking to improve their soccer skills and/or focus on being recruited to play at Travel level in the future. Soccer practices are twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with no games on weekends. In this way players who participate in the Academy Program can also register for the NPSC Recreational Programs.
The NPSC Academy Program will be the first step for players who want to attend the Travel Tryouts. Players in the Academy Program will be assessed during the season and these evaluations will be shared with the NPSC Travel Coaches for Travel Tryouts purposes.
The Club’s Director of Coaching will oversee the NPSC United Travel Academy Program and the NPSC Coaching Staff will lead weekly soccer sessions.
NPSC United NCSL RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS
U11 & Older Age Groups
The NPSC United NCSL Recreational Program is for players from U11 to u19 age groups and provides opportunities to former NPSC In-House players (U10s) who want to continue playing at the Recreational level, however focusing on advanced competition. At the NCSL Recreational Program NPSC teams will be formed to compete against other recreational clubs, in home and away games in the Northern VA area. Soccer practices happen 1-2 times a week, with games on weekends. Volunteer Coaches will lead these teams at practices and games. Two NPSC United NCSL Recreational seasons are offered throughout the year: Spring (Mid-March to May) and Fall (Mid-August to beginning of November).
