Recreational Volleyball

Northern Piedmont Sports Club Recreational Volleyball is a fantastic way for new and returning  players to develop/improve their volleyball skills. NPSC provides a fun environment for all skill levels to participate in volleyball. Every player has an opportunity to play. The matches are held in a rotating serve pattern allowing players to participate in different positions on the court.

NPSC will form teams for players in grades 3 through 12 and will have three divisions; Elementary, Middle, and High School. Teams will practice once a week for an hour each session.  Each team will have 9 weeks of practices and an 8 game season. Middle and High School teams will have 7 regular season games and the 8th week will be held tournament style.

As a new policy, starting with the Spring 2025 NPSC rec volleyball season, athletes who play 15U and higher travel volleyball or have played on their high school volleyball team are no longer eligible to play recreational volleyball. For other opportunities to be involved in NPSC's volleyball program, such as assistant coaching or refereeing, these athletes should contact the Volleyball Committee at [email protected].

All practices and games will be held at our outdoor volleyball courts located at Athey Sports Complex in Warrenton.

Draft

NPSC will use a draft to place players onto teams. All players must attend evaluations so Coaches can have the best information to draft teams.

Note, elementary teams will not be selected through a draft but will be assigned by staff as it is not a competitive division.

Head coaches must select their 1st assistant coach no later than August 1st or they will have to wait until after the draft to select an assistant. This person must be registered in our system and have a completed safe sport training by the August 10th in order to qualify as an assistant.  The draft and evaluations will be run on August 3rd

At evaluations players will be assigned a number. They will be required to wear this number for the entire evaluation. Coaches will evaluate players based on the following criteria.

NPSC will not accept any request to play with friends, coaches, or carpools due to the draft.
